Unlike backyard businesses, Hello Garden began in the front yard. After a lifetime spent in gardens, it’s no surprise that a neighbor approached Kate while in her own garden.
They had a simple ask for help–one garden turned into two, then three, then a whole block of people knocking on her door, drawn in by something deeper than just plants.
She traded design advice for bottles of wine, met friends at the nursery, and felt it in her bones the moment she stepped onto a dirt lot—this was what she was meant to do.
